Capable Hands For Peace Of Mind
Relationship and education focused pet care professionals.

From my earliest memories, I’ve seen animals as loving, intelligent beings with their own feelings, preferences, and ways of communicating. Growing up on a farm gave me a close look at how much animals experience, and it shaped one of my core beliefs: when we know better, we have a responsibility to do better. That belief led me to become a vegetarian as a teenager and continues to guide the way I care for animals today.
Sploot Pet Concierge grew from a simple place: helping friends care for their pets and realizing how much I loved being part of their animals’ lives. During the rise of “pandemic puppies” and gig-style pet care apps, I saw a need for something more personal, professional, and relationship-based. I wanted to create an alternative where pets could be cared for by trained, compassionate people who take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and needs.
I’m especially fascinated by pet communication, including talking buttons, because they remind us that animals have more to say than we often realize. To me, enrichment isn’t extra — it is essential. Pets deserve lives filled with choice, curiosity, comfort, and joy, and that belief is at the heart of everything we do at Sploot.
Many of the pets I cared for adored the sploot position, which inspired our name. Our company colors were inspired by my fall hikes at Devil’s Lake State Park.

Yes, I was that kid who always had a small menagerie. Now, I’m that adult! I have always been fascinated with animals and nature. A life-long lover of all creatures, I was fortunately able to turn my passion into a career and have been training dogs, birds of prey, horses, and other animals for nearly 30 years. Recently, I moved to Madison from Milwaukee, where I ran a successful private dog training and walking business.
As a professional animal trainer, I’ve completed rigorous coursework in Animal Training for Professionals through NEI, inc. My training is scientifically sound, fun, motivational, and positive. I am honored to have helped over 300 families and nearly 1,000 dogs become more confident, calm, and responsive.
I currently share my home with my Husband Jim, our adorable, whip-smart 3-year-old Havanese Benny, our truly remarkable 3-year-old rescue Bouvier des Flanders Bella, and our almost 30-year-old Ball Python Rambo. I am so excited to meet you and your pups and can’t wait to help you achieve your training goals!

Abigail shares her home with three cats, including a once-feral kitten who is slowly learning to enjoy the comforts of indoor life. She approaches every pet she cares for with the same patience and compassion, making sure each visit is centered on the animal’s safety, comfort, and happiness.
Outside of pet care, Abigail enjoys biking around the city, hiking, and playing piano. She’s also an active volunteer with the local vegan community, bringing her care and compassion full circle into both her personal and professional life.

Animal Whisperer...I think so. Animal Lover...100%. Ever since I was a little girl animals have been a part of my life in one capacity or another. From our extended family farm, to the strays we welcomed in, to the furbabies who chose us, and to those I rescued in my adult years, animals have always found their way into my world, and heart.
My own personal hambones have been my 110lb black lab, Stella; my 185lb English Mastiff, Marlowe; and my most recent was my 175lb Harlequin Great Dane, Hugo Louis. Having lost Louis in February of 2023, I decided to focus my attention for a bit on caring for others' furbabies to give myself time to grieve until my next beast finds their way to me. I am a big glob of love, that would love to hang out with your fur friends; and I promise to love them like my own.

I have had the honor of living in the home of my black cat Trick for over a decade now. I love animals of all shapes and sizes, from the largest dog to the smallest fancy rat, but cats do hold a special place in my heart as I have spent my entire life caring for them.
When I'm not caring for pets, I'm often reading, baking, or playing games. I went to college for Computer Science, and I make the most of those skills by being the on-call IT person for my friends and family.
I choose to work with Sploot Pet Concierge because of their fear-free stance. To me, it's important to care for animals by adapting to their needs and allowing them to set the pace.

Kristin spends her days playing “throw, but no take” with her beloved dog, Ellie, and has experience caring for dogs, cats, and critters of all kinds. She’s a true lake person who enjoys walking Ellie downtown around the Capitol and Madison’s lakes.
Clients can count on Kristin for detailed updates and plenty of photos to help ease the worry of being away from their pets. She treats every furbaby like her own and often incorporates basic training cues into visits to keep pets engaged and happy.

I share my life with 3 cats Patches, Po, and Loki. They are my best friends! My favorite part about working with animals is building trust with them and seeing how they blossom.
When I’m not caring for pets I like to spend my time crafting, painting, and playing video games. My favorite place to spend time outdoors is the arboretum! Its so peaceful and beautiful.
I chose to work with Sploot because of my love for animals and my community. I also have experience working with animals, i’ve worked at a doggy daycare, and i have cared for animals part time for about 8 years. One thing a client can always count on from me is treating your pet like my own!

II share my life with my dog, Groot, a Blue Heeler Lab Mix, and a Tortie kitty named Penny!
My favorite part about working with animals is the quiet connection that happens without words. Animals don’t care about titles, bad days, or what you look like — they respond to energy, patience, and trust. Earning that trust, especially from a nervous or scared animal, is incredibly rewarding.
When I’m not pet sitting, I enjoy spending time with my three kids and husband! We enjoy going to different parks and hiking. One of our favorite places is the Verona beach in the summertime.
A fun fact about me is that my love of animals started when I was little, riding and competing with horses. I competed in Sport Horse Nationals in 2007.
I was also a professional dog groomer for 14 years, and I grew up working in doggy daycares and boarding facilities. I also used to work at a local animal shelter in Madison for years.
